    Now these are bells!!

    I'm dressing up like an elf and going to a nursing home to help give out gifts. I wanted to hand out bells. None I could find sounded like bells. I ordered 24 at a reasonable price from Bevin, slipped them on a satin ribbon and voila!

    Brass "plated" bells

    These worked good, but not very loud.. native american guys, old skool like non shiny bells.. .. I threw these into a charcoal fire, the color changed to the desired gray-black patina.. quenched them. They hardened, the tone changed, less tinny.. Plus they are about 3 times louder... I couldn't ask for better bells.
